The screensaver on LWP may be configured to suspend or hibernate after a certain period of inactivity on mouse oand keyboard. Sometimes this feature may crash or freeze the computer. This most often happens on computers with an more powerful videocard (NVidia) an/or in combination of certain software like Matlab.

Disabling these powermanagement features may also desirable if you leave the computer calculating for quite a long time without using keyboard and mouse.

Switching off powermanagement

These step assume the "xfce4" desktop is being use (default on LWP).
